Thank you Jane much appreciated, great to see so many down there, only a short period for us to play so we need to make it work!
Book in folks if you haven't already use the system in place to book your slot, it's simple,
Step 1 click this link 10to8.com/book/qqtoewliyknajahbrm/
Step 2 pick your time and date slot
Step 3 enter your name and e-mail address
Step 4 click book and away you go
All you have to do is turn up 15 mins before your time slot and start bowling!
Anyone free on a Monday (slots permitting) to have a game? 😁
Well done to those organising this
We have spaces this afternoon at 5:30, plus tomorrow morning at 10am if it helps anyone, just turn up!
Just to confirm, you can only book one space of the 18 available eack booking, so if booking for 2 people you will have to make 2 seperate booking, you will not be able to book over 18 people, the system will just shut you out and not show you that time slot!
If you have any problems let us know, we only have a couple of weeks at the most!
Any ladies going this afternoon please?
Glen Glen Stuart Gardiner what an excellent job on the roll ups and nice to see so many people down the green
What time today please? might pop down. I think I may have missed something or forgotten regarding when the competitions were going to be played😥 Oh well there is always next year 😁 Good luck to all those playing today
Please see Vera's funeral details as requested.
Sorry I cain't be there but I will send you all move love, thinking of you Graham, your family and freinds at this sad time, your mum was one in a million, god bless you Vera 👏❤️👏❤️
I will always remember the sound of "well you bowled" booming across the green. It will be a lovely tribute to a stalwart of the Caister Bowls Club
Good luck all
Unfortunately cannot come to support as the final is on a county match day
This is the reason I do not participate in the club competitions
Have a great day best of luck to all and hope the weather is good working unfortunately

To All Caister Bowls Club members,
We are pleased to announce the opening of the green for roll-ups for all members, the green will remain open until the end of September, weather permitting.
We have also re-instated the Thursday morning session to encourage any potential new members and beginners, we will try to provide some basic coaching if needed, please let anyone who might be interested know of these arrangements.
As you will appreciate, this year is significantly different from any previous year and we have had to include a management system for the green which will allow you to pre-book your slot on a certain day and time.
The current Bowls England guidelines state that if more than 2 people are playing on each team then every other rink must be used, so we are going to stick to this format to allow us plenty of room, as we also have to follow the current social distance and gathering guidelines, we will have a maximum of 3 players per side, per rink, so this will give a maximum of 6 players per rink (Maximum 18 players in total on the green).
You can book a slot using the on-line booking system or by contacting a nominated member via e-mail or telephone, the on-line system is the preferred method.
We must stress that it will be on a first come first served basis with the online booking system taking priority as it is immediate.
You can find the online booking system at the following address: [](), please follow the instructions as per attached, please note booking of slots are made with a 24 hour notice period before the time allocation.
If you do not have web access you can contact one of the following members on the day before you want to bowl, for them to book a slot for you.
Nominated members :-
Glen Gardiner E-mail: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Mobile: 07803257834
Arthur Skippen E-mail: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Mobile: 07584651973
Ray Reeson E-mail: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) Mobile:07816774846
If you wish, you can turn up on the day but if we are already fully booked, then sorry, you will have to return another day, or try to book in advance to avoid further disappointment!
The following procedures will be in place during this period.
The gate will remain closed and a nominated member will open and prepare the green before each day's session, this will also include the cleaning of mats, jacks and green preparation.
The changing rooms will remain closed and no bar facility will be available, but toilets will be open.
We will provide mats and one jack for each team and ask that only the lead touches their jack and their mat, remember to take the jack with you when walking up each end.
It's important to ensure that you use the hand sanitiser before play, if you have not done so already, that way we know everyone is clear before we start.
If playing triples the lead will bowl, the skip will be down the other end and the seconds should stay clear of the leads when they are bowling.
Once the leads and seconds have bowled move up the green keeping to social distance guidelines, the skip and second can confer but can the leads continue to the other end please. If any bowl goes into the ditch, any player can remove it but use the hand sanitiser supplied if required.
As we are playing in rinks it may be necessary to provide bowls pushers at both ends of each rink, if this is the case Please ensure only one person uses the pusher to avoid the need for extra cleansing.
There are no plans to use scoreboards, a scorecard will be available for each block where scoring is required. Please bring your own pen and card carrier if required.
We are asking for a donation of £1 from each person, per session, as we normally do for the roll-up. Could you please try to bring the correct money?
The money will help cover the cost of cleaning materials.
Whoever is running the last session on each day will ensure that everything is locked including the main gate padlock.
Please refer to Caister Bowls Club Facebook page or check your emails frequently for the latest information updates. Please also check out the notice boards outside the club pavilion before you begin to play.
Please note the Green open days and times below.
The following information is for guidance only and may vary according to the weather and any maintenance requirements, we also hope to add additional times to this list.

Not long to get that **first roll-up in,** for members who haven't turned up yet it's not too late, they are plenty of times you can book in as below, we can have a **maximum of 18** people on green so **3 rinks of 6**, it gives you plenty of room to walk up and down keeping to social distancing, we have a system that works and we have made it as safe as we can, all cleaning equipment, hand sanitiser is there get for you, the rest will be down to you, some days we only have a couple of people so in that event you can join in or be in a singles game if the amount allows of people allows it?
Don't forget this is where you can go online and book []() you cain't book anything shorter than 24hrs but that doesn't mean there isn't space, turn up at least 10 mins before the session and just have a look to see if you can get in, Thursday morning roll up is getting busy, so is Tuesday evening, but please come and join the fun, will only have some 19 odd days left of this very short season, we worked hard to get to this point, it would be a shame if you missed a chance to bowl???
P**lease see the Green open days and times below.**

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As you maybe aware Vera passed away last weekend .
The funeral ceremony will be at Gorleston Crematorium on the morning of Monday June 22nd at 10 a.m.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings and you wish to show your respects as a part of a club group, without being able to attend the ceremony, we are going to line the Windsor Road side of Braddock Road, keeping within safe social distancing guidelines, to say our goodbyes, in club shirts or jackets, if possible please?
We will give a respectful round of applause as the cortege passes by, if anyone deserves that tribute it's our Vera .
If we gather from 9.15 onwards, we can ensure we will be there before the cortege leaves the house.
The family have asked that no flowers be given but there is a donation website with Arthur Jary & Sons which will be open from now until around July 22nd.
All donations will be equally shared between the Stroke Association and Caister Bowls Club in line with family wishes.
We have been asked that when the situation allows, we hold a Vera Punchard Fun Day during next season, I'm sure that will be a very well attended function in loving memory of a very special lady.
The web address for memorial donations is []()
Arrangements are being made to stream the service and should you wish to view that the web address is []() logon-id 36170 password srwbnwhx

Many thanks to the club members who turned up today to work on the Green.
We managed a full cut followed by a verticut in two directions and then another cut to remove any thatch brought to the surface.
Half of the paths are just about cleared of moss and weeds and work will continue over the next weeks to get the Green into a playable condition. ... See MoreSee Less

As sent out today from the club!
**Caister Bowls Club - May 2020**
**PROVISIONAL PLAN FOR RE-OPENING FOR PLAY**
**In line with the government guidelines and advice from Bowls England (May 13th/14th) please note that we will be opening the club to paid members but not before the beginning of July 2020.**
**That potential opening date will be reviewed on a regular basis and will be announced when we are sure it is safe.**
**When the opening does take place , whenever that might be , all government guidelines still in place must be strictly followed.**
**Of course we need time to ensure that the green is fit for play and make sure all facilities are ready for safe use .(This will not initially include the bar .)**
**In order for that to be done we will be looking for volunteers to help with the work which will have to be carefully managed in order for those people to remain safe .**
**In addition we are conscious of the potential threat of a second spike of Covid19 occurring in the next few weeks after the relaxation announced by the government starting May 13.**
**As the majority of our members fall into a vulnerable category of one kind or another it would be irresponsible of us to consider re-opening until we are confident that it would be safe to do so.**
**As previously mentioned in communications regarding club fees from a few weeks ago ,we hope to run the club competitions in August if it is safe . Entries for that have now closed . The nature of those competitions makes social distancing reasonably easy.**
**We will arrange whatever play is possible as soon as it is safe to do so. We will provide hand cleansing liquids and disposable towels but we will not provide any other form of PPE.**
**We also need to ensure we have appropriate cleansing safety controls in place regarding the use of any club equipment (woods ,mats , jacks , scoreboards etc) .**
**Please let us know if and when you are able to volunteer to help so we can develop a plan for getting the club in shape to re-open.**
**In the meantime please STAY ALERT and STAY SAFE ** ... See MoreSee Less

Competitions closed too early most people didn’t enter because of the unsureity of whether the green would open this season
If not playing till August no reason closing date couldn’t of been 1st July or just after when we knew what was happening
David I would suggest taking it up with the officers and the 1 committee member as per the e-mail bud, if they decided this they must have a reason?
I have sent an email
